Tamarack Aerospace Group announced today that it has now received additional EASA and FAA approvals for its ATLAS Active Winglets on the Cessna Citation business jet line, with new authorizations for the C525A series, which includes the CJ2 and CJ2+ aircraft. Tamarack already has approvals on the C525 and C525B CJ series.
“This is our second STC approval on the CitationJet series this quarter.” said Nick Guida, Founder of Tamarack Aerospace. “It shows how agile the Tamarack team has become in obtaining multiple sequential certifications. Regulatory approval of our latest STC amendment for the Citation CJ2 and CJ2+ proves what our existing CJ owners have known since their installs: Active Winglets on the C525 and C525B, and now on the C525A, dramatically enhance the performance of the aircraft. With ATLAS you can climb faster, fly farther and burn less fuel.”
The operational benefits that owners will see with a CJ2 Active Winglet equipped aircraft are:
- Range now 1,700 nm at Maximum Continuous Thrust with IFR reserve.
- Maximum Zero Fuel Weight increase of 400 lb. on CJ2+ and 800 lb. on the CJ2.
- Direct climb to FL450 in 30 minutes or less.
- Increased climb gradients.
- Improved single-engine climb performance.
- Ride smoothing and stability.
- Upgraded LED navigation & anti-collision lighting.
Brian Cox, Chief Operating Officer of Tamarack Aerospace, added “It’s exciting to also now be able to offer this upgrade to our C525A customers. Beyond range and time to climb, owners will also see the other benefits of Tamarack’s Active Winglets such as stability, improved hot/high performance, new LED exterior lighting, aesthetics and value retention.
The CJ2 gets an 800 lb. maximum zero fuel weight increase from our Active Winglets which is just amazing. We’ve recently expanded our installation capacity at our Sandpoint, ID facility and we now offer a one week, plus painting time, install here by the factory experts.”
Tamarack Active Winglets are the only aerodynamic technology on the market today that can reduce time to climb and fuel burn, while increasing range and aircraft stability, without any structural reinforcement, yielding significant time and cost savings. Tamarack Active Winglets are approved via EASA and FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for installation on the Cessna CJ, CJ1, CJ1+, M2, CJ2, CJ2+, CJ3 and CJ3+ business jets.
About Tamarack Aerospace:
Idaho based Tamarack Aerospace Group Inc. invented and patented the revolutionary Active Winglet system. Tamarack’s certified Active Winglets are three to four times more efficient than passive (traditional) winglets. The Active Winglet system typically provides a reduction in fuel burn, performance gains and increased asset value. The Active Winglet system is comprised of a wing tip extension, a highly tuned winglet, and load alleviation technology.
The load alleviation system counteracts gust or maneuver wing loading events and eliminates the heavy wing reinforcement and structural additions required by all passive winglets.
